Tap Water vs Bottled Water
They say “Knowledge is Power”, but boy sometimes that knowledge can be scary! Here is something to consider…drinking water everywhere is bad for you. (Unless you are using a PUR2o system of course!) I may be a bit biased, but for very good reason! Let me share some of this knowledge with you so that you can decide for yourself.
Approximately just 3% of the world’s water is potable. Of that 3%, most is totally compromised. Municipal water system operators do their best to deliver safe water. With all the pollutants, contaminants and poisons in the water supply, the task is monumental. While the water may be deemed safe, chemicals and contaminants remain in the water. And while it may be safe because the government tells us it is, that tap water delivered to your home, is no way, healthy.
And there are hundreds, even thousands of studies to prove it. See what is in your tap water by entering your zip code here....
Private well water is no longer as good as it was once touted to be. There are natural and man-made contaminants finding their way into the water. Landfills leach all sorts of toxins into ground water and aquifers. Pesticides and fertilizers, seepage from landfills and urban run-off and so much other “ick”, find the path of least resistance to the underground water supply. That water makes its way right into our wells and then to our tap!
And bottled water? Ugh, I simply can’t say enough about what “false hope” bottled water really is. Most major brands filter or purify municipal tap water, making it acidic. The water is then bottled into those single use plastic bottles. Acidic water is aggressive and corrosive. It’ll break down the plastic which can lead to chemicals from the plastic leaching into the water you drink. If you have ever left a half-used water bottle in your hot a car, even for a few hours, and then tried to drink it, you will taste something that’s not quite right. There are other chemicals aside from BPA that can make their way into the water once the bottle is heated, and ready for this? - same thing happens when that plastic bottle is frozen!. Don’t believe me? Just google it! Most importantly, diseases live and thrive in acidic environments, which can affect our overall health. If you want to read about the effect those disposed water bottles have on our environment read about it in our Blog: "Of All Evils".
I have no doubt the reason bottled water is such big business is because of what I call, “The Great Madison Avenue Marketing Monster”. Several decades ago, soda companies and others jumped onto the fitness craze. How many people do we see running or jogging with a cell phone in one hand and a plastic bottle of water in the other? Of course, advertisers also dove head first into the craze and sold us on the so-called benefits of bottled water.
There are many solutions to BAD water out there, and I realize just how confusing surfing the Internet to find a fix can be. The amount of information is completely mind-boggling.
When someone starts to Google “water treatment”, “filtration”, “purification” or more, the information and the choices are complicated, perplexing and down-right overwhelming.
The best decision is an educated decision.
Cutting to the chase, the ONLY way to get drinking water completely safe from contaminants and healthy for your body is by filtering it, purifying it, and then re-mineralizing it. The only way to purify it - strip it completely clean of all pollutants and contaminants - is with reverse osmosis (RO).
Bear in mind, however, drinking RO water is like drinking distilled water, both devoid of any essential minerals – magnesium, potassium and calcium - our bodies need to stay healthy. RO water is also Acidic.
In fact, a study by the World Health Organization has linked cardiovascular (heart) disease to drinking distilled water.
Our bodies cannot make minerals. We have to get them from the food we eat and the water we drink. Once upon a time, the water in nature used to be just about perfect for our survival, but now we need to remove man-made contaminants, and put some of those all-important minerals back into it.
At PUR2o, we use a compact, under-the-sink, 5-step filtration and re-mineralization process, that removes 99.9% of all contaminants from your water including harmful bacteria, pharmaceuticals, and chlorine/ammonia added by the municipality treatment centers. We then take this newly clean but acidic water, and ionize it and re-mineralize it, adding back magnesium, potassium and calcium to the water, antioxidants, and the best part of it is that the water is also Alkaline. Our water has the perfect balance so that you can feel confident, healthy and hydrated throughout the whole day.
Whether you install a PUR2o filtration system or not, the bottom line is that before making any decisions about water remediation, make sure you know what’s lurking in your water. And never go with a one-size-fits-all water treatment company, because as I said, not all water is created equal!
We are striving to provide as many people as possible with filtered, purified, naturally alkaline and ionized water for drinking and cooking straight from the tap, for three reasons. We care about the health of YOU, the health of our PLANET and the health of your POCKET!
THE HEALTH OF YOU
Our goal is to provide as many people as possible with pure, crystal clear, safe & healthy water.
PUR2o Alkaline water is shown to benefit: Overall health and energy, weight management, muscle stimulation, brain power, digestive system, mood, body temperature, youthfulness, complexion, lifespan, and boosting your immune system.
THE HEALTH OF OUR PLANET
We are also committed to creating a greater awareness of how plastic and plastic bottles are polluting our planet and our bodies by providing the best water out of your tap, eliminating the amount of plastic we dispose of and how much water we consume out of plastic bottles.
THE HEALTH OF YOUR POCKET
Aside from all the health benefits of Alkaline Water, you save a tremendous amount of money with our systems! Did you know?…. If you drink eight glasses of water each day, it will cost approximately $55 per year; vs $1,700 if you were to drink the same amount of bottled water instead. The PUR2o system pays for its self in only one year by one persons water consumption.
